03/02/11- Paula's Eating/Exercise Journal : Wednesday

This season has been terrible for a variety of illnesses including the stomach flu, bronchitis, flu, strep, and laryngitis. I feel like we had all of them multiple times in our home.  I base this on the fact that even though we wash hands before every meal, I spray everything including bedding with Lysol when we have someone in the house wholes sick, with two 7 year olds, two 9 year olds and a 17 year old, our house is basically a petri dish!

I was discussing this issue with a friend who said she was hit with the stomach and viral flu simultaneously.  She then got a yeast infection from the anti-biotic that her doctor gave her.  Imagine all this with two children under 6!

If this happens to you, remember that to ease bladder infections, diarrhea and yeast infections, and yogurt contains probiotics http://www.cincinnati.md/oh/cincinnati/topic-hw61044/probiotics%20for%20yeast%20infections/vaginal-yeast-infections which is a friendly intestinal bacteria.

Cranberry juice (not the high sugar fruit juice cocktail), or powdered cranberry capsules can help relieve the symptoms of a yeast infection, or a UTI, until you can see your doctor.
